Interview for Job at Rec

Hey guys! I recently filled out an application for a job as the Facility Receptionist at the Rec (person that scans ID). I have an interview next week. I was wondering if anyone here knew what kind of questions they might ask. Thanks and if you have any helpful information/tips, please post them. Thank you.

Anyone? (10char)

It’s probably too late to give you any helpful information but I hope your interview went well. I hire student workers on campus all the time and I’m always interested in knowing if they understand that the job requires professional behavior; i.e., friends can’t stop by to talk while they are working, dress can be casual but conservative, and the schedule should be adhered to unless they communicate to their supervisor in advance that they need time off. I don’t usually have set questions I ask - I like to just have an open ended conversation to try and get to know the student a little and get a feel about their level of maturity and commitment. Just be prepared to talk about yourself, your major, how long you have been in College Station, whether you will stay over the summer or not, whether your major requires internships and if so, which year you would like to participate. Most of the students I interview are fairly serious and all have interesting stories to tell. The decision usually comes down to how long they think they will want the position and whether they can work enough hours in blocks of time of about 2-3 hours or more.

Good luck.

P.S. I’ve always thought that the job of receptionist at the rec center would be the perfect job for a student.
