Just curious… When I apply to college under what circumstances will I have to be interviewed. Don’t get me wrong I would love nothing more than to be interviewed because I feel that would help my chances but I’m wondering how can I get interviewed.
Part two: Under what circumstances will the university ask to see my senior grades? If I apply in the fall will they just send me a letter saying “we want to see your senior grades” or…?
Interview practices vary by school. Some interview everyone, some don’t do interviews at all, some are by request, etc. You need to check each school you are applying to to see what they do.
All schools will want to see your senior grades. My kids high school sent mid year grades automatically to all schools where kids applied early, and a final transcript to the school they decide to attend.
Generally, it is up to you to request or schedule an interview. Some colleges recommend them, at others it will have no bearing on your app.
Most colleges will ask to see first semester or interim grades and that should be all on their website under EA or ED requirements
All circumstances. They will ask to see an interim transcript and a final transcript. They will not send you a letter; it is up to you to make sure that the correct documents get sent.
Part 1 - It is completely dependent on the schools you apply to.
Part 2 - 100% certainty the college will ask for senior grades as well as your final transcript with proof of graduation. The interim and final transcripts will be sent directly from your HS guidance department.
“All circumstances. They will ask to see an interim transcript and a final transcript. They will not send you a letter; it is up to you to make sure that the correct documents get sent.”
The exception is UCs and CSUs, which I believe only ask certain applicants for 1st semester grades. They’ll still need a final transcript, however.
Even after acceptance schools want to see a final transcript to verify you took (and passed) what you said you would take. Also, some schools may add a comment that says “we reserve the right to rescind the admissions offer after viewing the final transcript”.
