Interview/Personal Appointment?

I know interviews are not required, but I scheduled one during my visit because I’m so interested in the school. Anything I should know beforehand? What is it like? It’ll be my first college interview, but I’m wondering more about the specifics to Pitt.

Also, should I not wear jeans?

I don’t know what interviews at Pitt are like, but at other colleges it will be current students and/or people who work in OAFA sitting down and talking to you about Pitt. You’ll probably get the traditional questions like “Why Pitt?” so be prepared with good and unique answers to you. When I did an interview (for elsewhere) the person also asked things like what I liked to do in my spare time and the sort of clubs I wanted to join. They want to see how you will fit into the Pitt community and what you will bring.

NO. You’re going in for an interview, so you need to dress up (even if the other person isn’t, the fact that you are means that you are taking this seriously, which looks good). If you’re a boy, I’d say khakis/slacks with a button down and a tie. A girl could wear slacks and a blouse or sweater if it’s cold, and if it’s warm a nice dress or skirt/blouse.
