I am curious to learn if any QuestBridge Finalists participating in the National College Match process this year have been contacted by either Admissions Officials, College Faculty or Alumni about interviews to occur before they make their December 1st Match decisions.
I understand that alumni interview requests from many QB partner colleges and universities may be forthcoming, especially during the Regular Decision phase, but I have not really seen posts on CC before detailing how common interview requests may be prior to Dec 1st…
I have personally been contacted by a UChicago alum to have an interview this week. On the 2016-2017 Facebook Finalist page, quite a few people have been contacted for interviews, but I would probably say only about 20-30% of us have had interviews or will have interviews this week.
@Imaptqie Thanks. And so you are trying to match potentially with UChicago? I know that my daughter has been contacted by Vanderbilt and Brown so far, but she did not rank either of them.
UChicago does historically match the most each year I believe.
My college’s admissions officers interview all QB NCM applicants rather than send them to the regional alumni groups. It’s because of the earlier deadlines required for QB.
@WWWard Yes I did rank UChicago. None of the other 10 schools I ranked have contacted me for interviews. I had to contact MIT myself. I know that interviews can only marginally help my application, so I am not worried.
I guess that makes sense, as UChicago seems to be among the most prolific QB partners in terms of the match process, routinely matching with more than 50 each cycle. I am not aware of any QB partner that has matched with more, especially over the last 5 yrs.
