Ok, since some of us have and haven’t had interviews yet it would be cool if we could all give and receive advice. So, anyone have advice?

my first question, by the way: my interview is at a starbucks. buy drinks?

edit: if they ask me how I got interested in what I’m interested in should leave in the part about me going to UCLA and the head of UCLA physics department telling me how much I’d like physics and biology and how great their biophysics program would be for me, or should I leave that out (because it is about another school).

mine was at starbucks. i was going to buy drinks. but he came in with a drink. hahah

ehh… i would go ahead and leave it in. b/c they are affiliated with penn. but they won’t really take offense to another school. in fact, in my view, they will note that as unique.

btw. my good friend is majoring in bio physics in UCLA. he says it is a pretty good program.

The interviewers have to send in their stuff tomorrow so for ED people this will soon be a moot point.

swear alot, and pick you nose. answer a cell phone call in the middle of the interview, and arrive late. do those things and ur a shoe in

She said that they’re due tomorrow so it might be one or two days late. Should I ask her to rush it?

This is what her email said (she’s funny)

thanks jedi!

uhhh oh~ i set up my interview today for next monday (11/22), but my interviewer seemed kind of clueless and just said he only needed to do it asap but said he didn’t have an absolute deadline… should i annoy him and let him know its tomorrow?

yeah, my interview is on friday the 19th…are you sure that the deadline is tmrw?

no problemo, always happy to help =D

It might be different dates for different localities although I have heard the 15th date before.

beach: i have no clue. ask a cc?

My interviewew told me that the deadline for sending their stuff is definitely tomorrow (and this has been confirmed by others I believe). I’m not sure how flexible Penn is with late interviewing though.

On the phone my interviewer said that the later your interview is the less it matters.

oh…?? so the ones who had their interviews early are strong candidates?
and the ones who have later are like err… maybe to weak candidates?

Due 15th for me (Houston area)

nonononono~! I think I made a mistake in what I said.

Let me rephrase: Given any candidate, the later s/he scheadules or has his/er interview, the less it will impact his admissions status.

That was what I understood from her, anyway.

The deadline for interview info submission isn’t today. The letter that most of you received in the mail with your password for decisions tells you that interviews are done in November and early December for ED candidates. Perhaps Ilovepoker’s interviewer had an early group and had to have his/her reports in by today. Other interviewers wh oare assigned later groups of kids would have later deadlines. The timing of your interview has nothing to do with your chances. We know a couple of kids who are almost certain locks and they have pending interviews. I know one kid who was admitted last year and he had a December interview. He was an extremely stong candidate, so I wouldn’t worry of you haven’t been called yet or haven’t interviewed yet.

Yea! I just got my call today. Scheduled for an Interview this wednesday.

this saturday at Houston hall

what should I wear???
khaki and a shirt??
jeans and t-shirt or sweat shirt???
I’m a guy btw

I dunno. I actually asked the lady that’ll be interviewing me, and she said this (not word by word, but close): “Really casual, I mean, really casual, just come relaxed, don’t get all prepped for it, come in and have a nice chat.” I guess what you wear is actually the interviewer’s preference…did you ask the person?

i wore khakis and a collared tshirt with a plain white undershirt
