Interview

<p>Hi, I just have a short question about Lafayette and how much they actually weigh the interviews for accepting students.
I really love Lafayette and its for sure on the top of my list. Seeing as I don’t have the financial means to apply ED, I will not be able to show my interest in that manner.
However, I live in Florida but really want to interview seeing as it is strongly recommended. I am not able to fly up there and there are zero alumni interviews in Florida from what I’ve looked up on the web site.
So, I’m just trying to see whether or not the fact that I have not visited or interviewed will affect my chances of admission to a marked degree.
Thanks!</p>

<p>Hi Emp,</p>

<p>The on-campus interview and official visit are much more important for (and almost expected of) those within a reasonable driving distance to campus.</p>

<p>For those far from campus, our alumni off-campus interviews are a great way to demonstrate interest and learn more about what the College has to offer. You won’t know if there are alumni admissions representatives in your area until after you apply – no additional effort is required on your part to initiate the process. The portion of our Admissions website you may be referring to (see: [Admissions</a> Off-Campus Interviews](<a href=“http://lafayette.edu/admissions/offcampusi.html]Admissions”>http://lafayette.edu/admissions/offcampusi.html)) is a travel interview schedule for our admissions officers only.</p>

<p>There is a concentration of alums in Florida, so don’t count yourself out just yet. If an off-campus interview is not possible, you will not be penalized in any way.</p>

<p>Sidenote: are you still thinking of applying ED to JHU despite your financial concerns?</p>
