Interview

I just had my interview. It went pretty well except for when he asked me the following question: “How will investment banking in India help Indians?”

I gave half an answer; something about increasing jobs due to new avenues for foreign banks. I forgot to mention that Indians will benefit with increased wealth due to growth of foreign and local firms, resulting in economic growth, no matter how small.

Prior, I did inform him that though I am interested, I may not be knowledgeable yet. I gave him the example of a trading stocks, where I understand what a certain graph might mean in terms of MACD or Stochastics but I do not understand why or how the graphs are generated YET.

I know this may sound stupid, but is that bad, considering that I’m applying to Wharton?
