Interviewer Had Access to My Application

I recently attended a Schreyer-hosted interview event. My interviewer had access to my entire application on a laptop (essays, short answers, etc.). The interview went very, very well  – but does this mean anything? Do all interviewers have access to their applicants’ records?
Nervous for Monday’s results! :frowning:

that is unusual. Usually, the interviewers have access to quick biographical information (HS, major applied for, campus) and the short answer questions. And only that. Not the academic record or anything else. Are you sure they had access to your essays and full application?

Good to hear that it went well - it can definitely help you if you are on the fence. good luck

I am not surprised if Schreyer interviewers have access to your Schreyer application. Essays are basically the most important thing for Schreyer, and they’d be a good talking point in an interview.

@lucyvanpelt My interviewer definitely had access to the short answers. However, I may be mistaken that he had access to my essays, but since there was some overlap between what I wrote in my essays and what I wrote in my short answers, I assumed he did. I think I’m overthinking this!

Schreyer’s was the best of all my college interviews. Idk, something about Schreyer just makes me feel really comfortable. Hoping for the best!

Unless they are an admissions counselor or faculty reader (they could conduct the interviews, although unlikely) they will not have your entire application. FERPA laws prevent it.

The Schreyer application is separate from the one for Penn State as a whole.

Update! I was accepted to Schreyer!
