When I was doing my skype interview with a boarding school, the person interviewing me didn’t have their facecam on, so I was just looking at my own face for the entire time. I didn’t want to ask them about it bc I was concerned about coming off as rude, but it definitely made the interview a lot less flowing and natural since I wasn’t able to see the interviewer’s face. Would it be possible to ask for a redo, or what should I do?
I would do nothing. Remember that BS are looking for kids who are independent and can handle things on their own. To have gone through an interview without mentioning something that bothered you so much that you feel you should have a redo may count against you more than whatever awkwardness you felt in the interview (which you probably handled better than you thought – it’s normal to think about how you might have answered differently when you look back.)
If there is something you would like to add, feel free to write a thank you note and to mention it.
Facecam without face is the same as a phone interview. Shouldn’t be a showstopper.
