My interviewer is listed in myMIT without any contact info: there’s a phone header followed by a blank space, and no email header. Does this mean he just isn’t ready to be contacted yet? Because I managed to find his email address (and phone number, current occupation, graduation year, and high school tennis stats. Google really screws you over if you have a unique name) online. Should I email him or not?

No.

Wait a few weeks and see if his contact information comes up. If it doesn’t, consider calling MIT and telling them you have an interviewer’s name on MyMIT but no contact information.

@MeSsIaH. i have the same issue. The phone of my interviewer is not there. But molliebatmit is right.

But why we cannot send them an e-mail?Just asking…

If an email address is listed as a contact email on MyMIT, then email is perfectly acceptable.

Emailing or calling an interviewer based on a Google search seems to me to be an invasion of your interviewer’s privacy, and is not likely to create a good first impression. This seems particularly true given that it is exceedingly early in the application season, and there’s no need to scramble to schedule an interview.

On a practical note, contacting your interviewer using a method not posted on MyMIT could lead to your interview request being lost – for example, if you email your interviewer at his personal email address, but he is handling all of his interview requests via his work email, you could get lost in the shuffle.

aight thanks.

molliebatmit thank you for your answer.Fortunetelly the e-mail of my interviewer is on myMIT so if a telephone number is not available in few weeks I will contact him via e-mail.

Thank you again:)

Hi all -

Sounds like a problem in the database. Please email interview@mit.edu to get it worked out. Don’t contact him/her personally - mollie is correct, it’s well-intentioned, but creepy feeling.

Absolutely, we are all still getting ready for the new interview season, and there is always some movement in August (for example, two EC’s in my region recently told me that they are moving continent). That being said, there should be contact information for all of us on the database, and if there isn’t, then mail the admissions office at the interview@mit.edu and get that fixed. Also note that if you do mail your interviewer at this point (and I have received 4 e-mails already) be aware that a lot of folks take holidays in August, and there may be a delay in getting back to you.

Excuse me for asking this, its a silly question. Even the e-mail of interviewer is in contact info we cannot contact him can we?

Thank you:)

If the email of your interviewer is in the contact info than yes you may contact him or her, that is how they wish to be contacted.

Thank you Chris:)
