lol… more like rendezvous in paris

hey go 48. im from strasbourg in the east of france. i had my harvard interview in strasbourg with an alumni that i contacted thanks to the interview coordinator (in paris). I recently got into touch with the pton guy (in paris). i dunno whether ill have to fly to paris or not.
desperately trying to bring the thread back to the initial topic

axfr, where did you apply besides harvard?

go48, I didn’t intend to hijack your thread but I do tend to get carried away and since you’re obviously bitter about it, I apologize

thank you for ur apologies… im not bitter i just think its stupid … i just think if someone posts here its to ask a question and then get an answer to that question not bs like you and others did… but whatever lets just get back to the question

take it easy everyone! go48 im also applying to princeton yale and stanford, how about you?

axfr, im applying to about 16 places more or less all the top east coast places… did you find it difficult applying as in converting school stuff etc… ? for me it was a real pain as im in a regular lycee…
mercurysquad, im not going to waste my time answering you… im just very happy for you that u got to add another post to your count since thats what’s most important according to you.

yeah converting everything to american standards was tough, but i’m in a lyc

kel chance! what exactly is an international section?

it means that there are students from several countries all over the world and english, german, spanish, italian and polish are taught at native-speaker level by native teachers. For the baccalaureate, we take an option called the OIB (option int’l du baccalur

so in june you’re going to get the regular french bac with some fancy options or the IB ? from what i know , the IB is considered junk compared to regular french bac ( french bac will get you a year’s credit even in top places if you get mention bien)

no im not taking the IB. the OIB is completely different. I’m taking a full french bac. its just that instead of taking history-geography in French, ill take it in english and ill have an oral as well. And instead of LV1, I’ll get a literature exam on books we’ve studied. And that fancy option is coefficient 16 altogether.

wow so instead of HG coef 3 and LV1 coef 3 you have both together coef 16?? that’s nuts that it should be more than math/phy/svt… is it possible for me to just sign up for this OIB or your lycee has to have an international section?

just got answer to 2nd question on google ,unfortunately its only for international lycees … you must be at Lyc

its coeff 5 for written english lit, 4 for oral lit, 4 for HG written, 3 for HG oral.
its a two year course, you start in premiere. and you have more hours: 5h of english 3h of history and 2h of geography

yep that’s right
