Interviews for WUSTL are optional right? Just checking because I haven’t gotten any call or e-mail about one

If you want one, you have to ask for it (I think). But it probably is way too late for this year…

quoted off of wash u FAQ:
“the earlier you submit your Pre-Application Data Sheet/Supplement, the better chance you will have of being offered an APAP interview.”

"When is the interview deadline?

* On-campus interviews end in February for current high school seniors.
- APAP members interview applicants between September 1 and January 15"

so i thought all you had to do was submit the supplement, and they would try and give you an interview if possible. nngmm, are you saying we had to call and request an interview with local alumni? I know you have to specifically ask for the on-campus ones.

I think you are supposed to call after you submit the app.and ask for one. If you are seriously interested in WUSTL, you should call even now - you may not get an interview, but at least they’ll see that you wanted one…

thanks nngmm i will do just that.

i think i will be doing that too nngmm. thanks!

they’re no longer taking requests. Darn it! I really want one :(

I totally thought it was required (I’m smart) and just thought they’d get in touch with me. Darn

^^ me two, i thought they would just get in touch or at least send an email with interview info. i guess they don’t really push interviews. it would have definitely helped show interest though

There was an interview day in my area with several alumni and parents. They sent me a letter about it so I replied and went. I got to talk to the mother of a current student. Very short like 20 minutes and she told me that even though she sends something in it doesn’t count for very much.

I think it mostly counts as a “show of interest” (even on-campus interviews).
