Intrauniversity Transfer?

I am a high school senior and recently applied to seven schools for electrical engineering, being admitted to three so far. I have always been unsure about that major, though, and was wondering if it is possible in any way to switch majors. Not within the college of engineering, but to another college. I know that current students must go through the process of an intrauniversity transfer, but from what I have read it seems like if you haven’t enrolled yet it is much easier to switch colleges. But how would I go about this? Because I would think that I would have to go through the whole application process again, and all the deadlines have already passed. How does this all work, if it is at all possible?

You need to contact those schools for specific instructions - many have the information online as to what needs to happen in order to change your major. Most of the time it’s not an issue, but there could be a problem if you are trying to get into a more competitive major/college within the university than the one you were excepted to (usually EE is pretty competitive, so I doubt this will affect you but you never know). Again, each school will have their specific process to follow so dig around on their websites or contact them during the week for more information.

For a while I thought I was going to a particular engineering school. As I went through various externships through my senior year though, I realized I really didn’t want to be an engineer. I made this decision in the spring, so I had already been accepted into my schools as a chemE student. (I hadn’t enrolled anywhere yet.)

I just emailed the advisors in the engineering departments and told them I wanted to change (IUT). They either took care of it themselves or put me directly in touch with someone who could. All of this was before I matriculated.
