Intro Bio?

Does anyone have experience with Bio 181? There are 2 formats available, one a lecture course with Professors McAlear and Infante; the other, a seminar course with Professor Michael Weir. They seem like such different approaches.
Also, any knowledge of the honors version of this course MMB 195, which includes a journal review weekly to the McAlear/Infante version?

oh wow, this seminar section is new. when I took Bio 181 2 years ago, there was just the infante/mcalear one and the honors section.

the section with infante/mcalear is fine if you don’t need interaction to learn. there are times where the prof. wll ask questions and someone needs to raise a hand, or volunteer for silly demos in front of the class. however, with a size of 150+ students, you won’t receive much attention. however, they are good teachers, and both are nice, so you can’t go wrong with the large lecture. however, you will receive much more attention in the weir seminar- it should be of high quality. I would pick depending on your preference for class size- all profs seem good.

I have friends who took 195- it was a good addition, from what I heard. Infante is a sweet old man, and I heard it was good times all around in 195. More work, obviously, but worth the while.
