Intro to Earthlike Planets 153

how tough is this class for an entering freshman w/good, but not stellar math and science skills?

pleaseadvise,

When I was at U-M I took a couple of introductory geoscience classes, and I can tell you the level of science and math needed for these courses is not incredibly high. With that said, don’t expect these classes to be easy A’s, the ones I took were curved, so if your prof decides to use that system I would expect about 30% to get A+/A/A-s, 40% B+/B/B-, etc. The classes themselves were very interesting and covered a variety of topics. Some topics were a little chemistry heavy, but nothing extraordinarily challenging. The upper level geosci classes are obviously more geared toward people intending to major/already majoring in geosci, so expect a fairly large jump in difficulty of material if you plan to pursue geosci after freshman year.
