Introduce a bill of law to your local politician

For those of you rejected , lets introduce a law bill that prevents the following;

  1. Utilizing the weighed system in grading- some school don’t even offer this and what about those of us that have family obligation and a jobs that produce time constraints.
  2. UC admissions posts that the minimum GPA is 3.0-- This again a sham, they should stop producing false hope by making this statement, when the truth of the matter is that you need a minimum of a 4.0 to even be considered (or at lease 90% of accepted students have above a 4.0.
  3. The holistic and Comprehensive review is just a sham to shut up the Affirmative Action proponents and they fall for it .
  4. Stop wasting taxpayer money with all the the recruitement departments. Why are the Universities soliciting students if they cannot accomodate those student that did not require encouragement. I know your answer, equal opportunity and these students would not have been reached. All High School have plenty of propaganda and counselors that offer opportunities. The UC System recruitment is a waste of taxpayer money.

    The problem is that all the admissions staffs and those individuals that could help, have found their comfort (utopic ) zone in the university system. What they need to do is find their manhood again and standup for the rights of deserving students.
  1. Students that attend schools that do not offer "weighted" classes are not penalized. All schools send school profiles listing their course offerings. The UC's are also aware that applicants do have family obligations/time constraints but you have to address these issues in your essays or in the additional information/EC sections.
  2. The minimum UC GPA of 3.0, is the minimum to apply, but not it does not state that you are guaranteed admission based on the minimum GPA.
  3. Holistic and Comprehensive review means they review applicants on the 14 criteria areas, but each school can weight these areas differently so you can get a varying acceptance results from one UC to another. No one size fits all.
  4. The name brand of many of the UC's do not need any recruitment to entice students to apply. I do agree that the UC's should make a greater effort to give in-state applicants the priority and luckily some of the issues of limiting OOS/International students is being addressed but unfortunately there is still a long way to go.

OP, you have a huge chip on your shoulder based on several of your posts. If you are so unhappy with the UC system, there are thousand of other colleges throughout the US that would love to students that are hardworking and intelligent.

Best of luck with your endeavors.
