1300 dorm spots for 32000 students? Sounds like they probably need to build another dorm. Can they even get half the freshmen in the dorm?

I live in the TV news area for Ames/Iowa State. Many of my D’s classmates and other HS friends attend(ed) ISU. (She is HS '11). While I have heard this story on our local news for the past few months, I have not heard any of D’s friends complain about housing. Many lived in the dorms even as sophomores. Many lived at home with parents to save money and drove the ½ hour to attend classes. And, many others lived in dorms their first year and then found an apartment. No one complained about housing issues with any of these options.

It does appear that more dorms are being considered, either through building or buying apartment buildings and converting.
