Ipad 2 or Ipad Mini?

Which one do you think? I’m breaking down and purchasing an Apple product.

Uses:
-Some video
-Email
-Social Media
-Occasional word documentation, Excel, etc

I’ll get the 16G regardless. What other differences are there between the two other than the size?

Thoughts?

Other than the size, an iPad 2 and an iPad mini are exactly same product (including the internals), except for the cameras. An iPad 2 offers a VGA front-facing camera and a HD 720p back camera. An iPad mini has upgraded cameras, an HD front-facing camera and a 5-megapixel (with 1080p video recording) back camera. Additionally, an iPad mini has Siri.

My advice is to get a 3rd or 4th generation full-size iPad. These models have a retina display, which is much, much better compared to the display on both the iPad 2 and the iPad mini. It is especially useful when browsing the web, writing emails, viewing PDFs or editing documents. The text is very crisp (sharper than printed text) and not pixelated, compared to that displayed on an iPad 2 or an iPad mini. Moreover, 3rd and 4th generation iPads are considerably faster.

If the money is what limiting your buying options and you HAVE to chose between an iPad 2 and an iPad mini, then get an iPad mini. It is much lighter and more portable than an iPad 2. Additionally, it is a current-generation product and has a lightning port compared to the 30-pin connector an the iPad 2.

Yes, just get an earlier generation refurbished iPad. You can get them on eBay for like 200.
