<p>I think I’ve used up all of my 32g ipad already! I went on vacation and uploaded a bunch of photos and videos. Can anyone tell me how I can find out how big some of the video files are? They are in my photo file.</p>

<p>I did backup my files into my icloud (had to buy more storage space first).</p>
<p>Also I asked my S and he said no but I’ll ask again. Can I backup my ipad photos and video to a external hard drive at all?</p>
<p>You can backup to a Mac or PC from your ipad or download your files from the cloud. From there, you can copy to an external hard drive, usb or flash drive.</p>
<p>The same connector you use to charge your ipad can disconnect from the plug and then it has a usb connection. You connect that way to a computer’s usb slot. I regularly back up the ipad on the computer so the pictures, etc are already stored there and can be cleared from ipad. I have not tried going directly to an external hard drive. You cannot use a thumbdrive without an adapter since the ioad does not have a usb slot.</p>

Perhaps you might want to look at a hosting site, especially if you want to share the photos with friends.

<p>It’s the videos that are the space hogs!</p>
<p>Once you’ve moved the videos etc to the other computer, when you sync the ipad you can uncheck videos, pictures, etc. in itunes so they will be removed from the ipad. </p>
<p>BTW, one annoyance I found is I agreed to accept notifications from an app and it put video trailers on my ipad. I didn’t realize until I went to the video tab of the ipad - which you can access through itunes when the ipad is connected - and saw them. Delete, delete, delete.</p>
<p>Again thanks a lot. It was a nice vacation, H video taped his dives, I did not know they chewed up so much space. I’ll burn them to a memory stick so we don’t lose them.</p>
