iPad II...Can you use portable speakers with?

I may be doing something wrong. I thought I had used portable speakers with my iPad before, but maybe not.

I’ve tried two types…Little Sony speakers and Logitech speakers for iphones, iPods, etc.

Is there a setting that I’m missing?

I know that there’s nothing wrong with the speakers cuz they work with my laptop…and I know that there’s nothing wrong with the female connection on my IPad since earbuds work.

Thanks in advance!!!

:)

If your device has Bluetooth, you can use any bluetooth-enabled device. I use my ipad mini with a Bluetooth enabled JamBox. It’s a great combo for us. It also works for our iPhone and am sure it will work with your ipad. Have only used bluetooth enabled speakers, neither of the ones you mentioned.

Yes, my iPad has BlueTooth, but my little speakers don’t. I do have a Sound Bar that has Bluetooth and it works with that, but I’m not at home where that is. :(

You should be able to plug them into the headphone jack. Just make sure you’re plugged into the input on the speakers, not the output. Obviously, using the dock connector will be better, but you do what you need to do.

If the jack isn’t working, try restarting your iPad.

I can’t figure this out. If I put my ears close to the speakers, I hear something.

I was sure that I had used these before with my iPad.

The speakers work fine with my laptop. There’s no confusion for input/output. These are just simple speakers with only the option to input (plug the pin connector in).

I don’t have external speakers so I can’t say for sure … but have you pushed up the volume in the Music or whatever app is actually playing?

They should work unless they’re USB powered.
