Finally upgraded my phone to a 6 from my 4. Yippee! I told myself once I had Siri that I would end my traveling crutch of having OnStar on my phone and save the $$ of that monthly bill. Tried Siri/Google Maps a couple of times and feel I can use those for navigation so ready to dump OnStar. Looking for a recommendation of a good dashboard “holder” - surely there is a better name for this device! - to place my iPhone when I want to use it for navigation.
Any tips??? If I can order it off Amazon, Target or something, even better!
I didnt find one that worked well, but have heard that the ones that hold using sand as part of it may work. Looking forward to seeing if someone posts one they found that works for the 6!
Bumping back up to the first page - I took a quick look at the TJ Maxx selection today but at a glance I’m guessing all the ones they had might not fit the iPhone 6 - probably prior models.
@dragonmom, that model gets good reviews - I do like how it is freeform - the phone doesn’t have to be snapped or guided into something to fit. But wondering how the magnet works - especially with a case on the phone. Am I understanding it right that you somehow put a magnet on the inside of your case (so back of the phone between the phone and the case) and then that will attract the magnet on the actual holder???
I use it for an iPhone 6 Plus and haven’t had a problem. Don’t know if the shape of the air vent on certain model cars has any impact (I have a Subaru), maybe check any one star Amazon reviews to see if people have had any problems
I have one of of those sand filled donut things on my dashboard. I find it less than satisfactory for any GPS purposes. My husband has a MotoX phone. He uses our old Magellan dashboard mount with a couple of elastics. It worked perfectly.
