iPhone vs Droid

I think I can do without the video chatting (as I sit here in my home office with sweatpants and no makeup :))

Still, I’m going iphone…I need my space for my music anyway…I’m at my limit on my old nano…

Most of the storage is on an SD card, which is easy to load. But there’s an app called DoubleTwist which syncs with your iTunes and can import non-DRM files. I’ve been lazy and haven’t yet converted my DRM’s so not all of my music syncs. That said, I usually use Pandora to stream music on my phone.

Flash allows you to watch certain videos. You can stream movies and tv shows using VCast. You can also download video files and can watch on your phone.

For me, the learning curve wasn’t too steep, but I was coming from Blackberry. The thing with Android is because there are different manufacturers, some of the UI is different amongst phones. HTC’s stock UI Sense is really, really good, which is one of the reasons I chose the Incredible over the Moto Droid.

iPhone. It has some flaws, but is simply the state of the art device at this time. I have a Blackberry for work and a personal iPhone (now iPhone 4) and while the BB is the better email device, I could not live without my iPhone.

I have both an iPhone and iPad (am reading/posting this from my iPad, in bed next to my husband who is sleeping – much less intrusive than a laptop would be). I can listen to music, watch a movie, buy/ read books through the kindle and nook e-readers, check email, check Facebook – I love these devices. So easy and intuitive. I’m in MOWC’s camp.

I have no idea which phone is better, but iPhone4 has the best ad.
The ad with Louis Armstrong singing “When you’re Smiling”, and people are communicating using the video feature of the iPhone. The couple who are deaf and use sign language at the end of the ad…Priceless. Fantastic ad.

Let’s not get sidetracked…remember, I’ve got Verizon and am NOT interested in switching carriers. And currently have NO smartphone. So there really isn’t a “iPhone vs Droid” CHOICE at the moment…(sorry about the thread title). It’s really, do I get a Droid now and be happy, or pine away for an iphone which may or may not happen anytime soon…

JustaMom5465, just get a droid. If Verizon had the iphone, I’m sure that’s what I would have gotten, but then I thought about the fact that I usually change phones every 2 years anyway, so if the iphone becomes available, and I still want one, I can get it in 2 years. But right now I have my droid, and I love it. And I think in 2 years, there will be a lot more cool phones to choose from.

My son and his best friend have the Droid Incredible, and they both love their phones. The boys were easily able to figure out the features on their own, but if you need help, Verizon has a help person that will walk you through all the ins and outs of your phone.

I agree with blankmind. I would go ahead and get the phone you want now. This IPhone/Verizon rumor sounds more credible than the rumors in the past, but those have been floating around for at least a year or so.

Get a droid now. You’ll enjoy it I am sure. When (if) the i-phone comes out you can do the comparison then.

The iPhone is coming out late this year/early next year for Verizon, according to everything I’ve heard. Whether that is too long of a wait is up to you.

I know, reviving an OLD thread (I am OP)

Got my HTC Incredible about a month ago - LOVE IT! Seems like there’s nothing it can’t do. Sync’s seamlessly with iTunes which was one of my worries…there are tons of apps in the Market. Also syncs with google mail/calendar and chrome, and the new google voice search is really cool.

My only complaint thus far is battery life…but I can work around that.

So - glad I’m still not pining away for an iphone.    :D

Great choice!
