<p>My dd recently gave me her old ipod and I set up my own new itunes account tonight. So my ? is, how do I sync the ipod to the new itunes account without losing all the music she has on it. While I know there are some songs on there I want to keep, I would like to be able to delete some and add some new. I’ve heard if I sync it all the music will be deleted? I also thought I would save the music to my computer first, but I haven’t been able to figure that out and it ends up back on itunes. My dd is off at college and I feel clueless. All my internet searches seem to leave me at a loss as well. Any experts that are able to guide me in the right direction?? Thanks!</p>
<p>I know there are ways to do it – I think there’s a program you can pay for, and if you have a mac, you can view the hidden files on the ipod – but Apple makes it really difficult to prevent music privacy. If your daughter purchased the music, she will also have to give you her itunes password for you to be able to play it to authorize your computer.</p>

<p>I’ve used the program CopyTrans to manage my iPod without installing iTunes. I know it also has a feature to pull music off of an iPod, so you might want to try that.</p>
