Ipod question

Several years ago DH won an Ipod touch 16GB, that he gave to me. At the time I wasn’t even sure what to do with it, and I was busy, so I put it in a drawer and forgot about it. About 2 years later, I tried to use it, but was unable to get it working. There were errors updating software. Yesterday, I took it to the Apple store to see whether it could be fixed. The guy there tried updating it, but got the same errors I got. He said that it couldn’t be fixed, that it was obsolete and no longer supported, that it couldn’t do anything except play music and do internet searches, the new ones do much more. I only want it to play music and audiobooks. I asked whether tech support could take a look at it, he said no, they wouldn’t be able to do anything with it.

I’m wondering whether I should try anything else before giving up. The date on it is 2007, and it has never been used. The sales guy did not seem all that knowledgeable.

Call Apple & tell your story

I would try again at the Apple store. Some of their geniuses are smarter than others.
