"ethnically cleansed by General Betrayus "

huh?

"General David H. Petraeus assumed command of the Multi-National Force-Iraq on February 10th, 2007, following his assignment as the Commanding General, U.S. Army Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth. Prior to assuming command at Ft. Leavenworth, he was the first commander of the Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq, which he led from June 2004 to September 2005, and the NATO Training Mission- Iraq, which he commanded from October 2004 to September 2005. That deployment to Iraq followed his command of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), during which he led the “Screaming Eagles” in combat throughout the first year of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His command of the 101st followed a year deployed on Operation Joint Forge in Bosnia, where he was the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations of the NATO Stabilization Force and the Deputy Commander of the US Joint Interagency Counter-Terrorism Task Force-Bosnia. Prior to his tour in Bosnia, he spent two years at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, serving first as the Assistant Division Commander for Operations of the 82nd Airborne Division and then as the Chief of Staff of XVIII Airborne Corps.

General Petraeus was commissioned in the Infantry upon graduation from the United States Military Academy in 1974. He has held leadership positions in airborne, mechanized, and air assault infantry units in Europe and the United States, including command of a battalion in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and a brigade in the 82nd Airborne Division.
General Petraeus was the General George C. Marshall Award winner as the top graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College Class of 1983. He subsequently earned MPA and Ph.D. degrees in international relations from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and later served as an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the US Military Academy.
Exactly how did General David Petraeus betray either his oath or his country? Here is his report to Congress:

Shogun; you’re wasting your breath. There are some people that can’t think logically or within facts. Their opinions are based solely on emotions. They have very little first hand experience with our military or the missions. Some of the ones who do have some experience are speaking with an agenda that doesn’t allow for respect for other opinions.

We know that there is NOT ethnic cleansing going on by our military. We know that the majority of the people in Iraq do see a better Iraq for themselves available. We know that a lot of good has come from our military involvement.

Yes, people do die in military campaigns; even civilians. People were dying before our involvement and some will die after. We have first hand experience through our revolutionary war, spanish-american, civil war, wwI, wwII, etc… There is unfortunately no way to discuss this topic with some people. I’ve been to the middle east a few times with the military. While not recently, I still have many brothers and sisters who have and I keep in contact with. We know the good that is being done. Most Iraqis know the good that is being done. Unfortunately, we can’t live in the “Can’t we all just get along” world that some want to believe exists. It doesn’t. But it’s that mentality and retreat that discredited us and hurt the people of vietnam; just as it will if we do the same in the middle east. Sorry that battles and objectives can’t be done in your 30 minute sitcom mentality. There was no lying even from the start. We were told that it was going to take many years.

There is no ethnic cleansing. General Petraeus has done his job well and honorably. But mini; I will ask you again to NOT keep using the pseudo name of General Petraeus as General “Betrayus”. Earlier, I had used similar names “TOTALLY IN FUN” to describe “Shillary”, “Obama Bin laden” and “McClain”. They were in fun, but it offended some people. So I stopped doing it out of respect to them and the moderators. (I use it now only as an example). Your use of General Petraeus however is totally serious, mean spirited, and intentionally slanderous. You need to stop. Your ignorance and prejudice is no reason to attack someone personally. If some of us can’t say things in jest, then you have no right to say such things when you mean to intentionally slander a person.

Lots.

And tortured also.

Christcorp: But mini has impeccable sources that totally justify him calling Petraeus “Betrayus”.

Of course, he’ll never provide them to you, but you know…

I have twice posted both his lies and deceit, published in October 2004, and his loss of $190 million in U.S. arms on his watch, the loss of which (much of which got into the hands of Al-Qaeda) resulted in the deaths of hundreds of American troops. That’s how he betrayed his commander-in-chief, and the troops. He betrayed his troops and the public trust, and should be held accountable for it.

As for his ethnic cleansing, I have TWICE posted the links from the United Nations High Commission on Refugees, specifically about the 600,000 ethnically cleansed from Iraq on Betrayus’ watch between July and October 2007.

But I am NOT the one who called him an AKLCS - “Butt-kissing-little-chicken-turd” - that appellation (about which I also posted the link) came from his superior officer Admiral Fallon.

I am truly sorry if you are not able to follow the links previously provided. But if you really cared, you’d find them yourself.

He earned the appellation.

Last time you said that, I spent 20 minutes searching, but with little information I couldn’t find them, and don’t particularly have the time to go through every one of your posts looking. The upside is, if you have those sources as you claim, all you have to do is paste them in here - much less time for you than it is for me.

Unless of course you don’t have them, in which case it’s probably more time for you, because looking for stories that wildly exaggerate (almost to the point of outright lying) events can be tough. I sympathize.

Mini doesn’t have sources…don’t you get it? It’s pretty easy to “prove” your point when you make one then tell others to find your “previous posts” that never existed.

The fanatical left is just as dangerous to the truth and progress as the far right. Moderation in all things moves a country and its people forward. This nation is quickly becoming tired of both ends of the political spectrum. They shouldn’t tolerate baseless slander against honorable men and women who love their country and have dedicated their lives to defend it, and have grown weary of the failure of many of our nations elected officials to make sound decisions both at home and abroad because they are so tied to one political extreme or another.
I would advocate putting the Code Pink types and the Neo Cons in a rubber room and let the nation get on with its business.

We won the war. We removed a dictator and his party, we destroyed the military there, and we found WMD weapons-grade material that “didn’t exist.”

Now we must work toward peace in the region. That’s not going to be easy. We will be there for a LONG time, but let’s think about this. We’re still in Germany after 60 years; we’re still in Japan after 60 years; we’re still in Korea after 50 years.

Peace WILL NOT solve our immigration problems. That’s the biggest joke yet!! Go surrender yourself to them before you surrender the nation.

Somehow I have a feeling the General had little to do with the weapons disappearing. Sure, a commander takes responsibility for his troops, but find the real culprit rather than blame the commander.

hops–A lot of what you said is correct, but the WMD dog don’t hunt any more.

“As for his ethnic cleansing, I have TWICE posted the links from the United Nations High Commission on Refugees, specifically about the 600,000 ethnically cleansed from Iraq on Betrayus’ watch between July and October 2007.”

I only found one post that you made earlier this year regarding ethnic cleansing:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/451541-ethnic-cleansing-one-out-six-iraqis-now-displaced.html?highlight=600%2C000+refugees</a></p>

I looked through the report that you supplied as evidence and found nothing stating that Syria alone received 600,000 refugees between July and October 2007. Not even the UNHCR has statistics that recent.

Approximately 1.6 million Iraqis were externally displaced from March 2003 to November 2006. That number was updated by the UNHCR to about 2.2 million in June 2007. So approximately 600,000 Iraqis became refugees within that 11 month period. Syria restricted its open-door policy on October 1, 2007 so that only Iraqi merchants, businessmen, and university professors could enter–basically closing the border off. Are you claiming that 600,000 people gained refugee status in Syria within those 3 months alone? Even the high end of Reuters’ estimates are far below your statement, and Reuters claims that possibly 2 million refugees exist in Syria alone, a shaky statement considering that the UN’s estimates hold at 2.2 million and the refugee counts in Jordan and Egypt total to at least a million people.
([Syria shuts border to Iraqi refugees - UNHCR | International | Reuters](http://www.reuters.com/article/homepageCrisis/idUS119126393845._CH_.2400))

Furthermore, are you saying that the sole reason for this massive influx of refugees is General Petraeus’s efforts? What about the sectarian violence which has forced the US to stay in Iraq in the first place? Does the explosion of all-but-civil war between Sunnis and Shiites hold no consequence here? What exactly should Petraeus have done to prevent the Sunnis and Shiites from killing each other and disrupting civilian life?
