IRS Transfer Info Doesn't Match

Has anyone figured out how to match the info to transfer the tax data? It worked for my D’s return but not for H’s and my joint return. On the IRS site I keep getting the message:

The information you entered does not match our records, therefore, we are unable to provide you with your Federal Income Tax Information.

I’ve seen others that have mentioned this and wonder if anyone figured out what the IRS is looking for. I know there were no typos and I tried all versions of my name, caps, no caps, with and w/o MI, etc. Nothing worked. I didn’t try adding H’s name to my first name.

Anyone figured out the secret?

How long has it been since you filed your return? Did you e-file? It might be that the turn-around time is longer to link. Otherwise, I don’t know the reason … I tried helping a couple people do the transfer & the same thing happened. I haven’t seen anything on it.

Thanks kelsmom. We e-filed in mid-Feb, ours and D’s on same day, so that shouldn’t be the problem since hers transferred. Actually, we haven’t paid the balance due yet, not for another week. Could that be the difference? D got a small refund already.

I finally just entered the info from the 1040 and submitted it that way so the issue is resolved but I still wonder what doesn’t match.
