Is 18 credits too much for my first semester at NVCC?

<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I’m just wondering if it’s too much to take 18 credits for my first semester at Northern Virginia Community College (aka. NOVA). It’s a long story but I really need to catch up. BTW, I’d 3.9 GPA in high school (we don’t have A+ 4.3) and my goal is to get 4.0+ GPA.</p>

<p>Here’s my courses that I enrolled in :</p>

<li>Calculus I (5) > Mo&We</li>
<li>Chemistry I (4) > Tu&Th</li>
<li>Composition I (3) > Tu&Th</li>
<li>Introduction to Psychology (3) > Mo&We</li>
<li>Introduction to Engineering (2) > Th “hybrid”</li>
<li>College Success Skills (1) > Mo “hybrid”</li>
</ul>

<p>Thoughts?</p>

<p>Only you can know if you can handle this schedule. Do you have a good math background for Calc 1 and a good chemistry background for chem 1?</p>

<p>Calc for me was far easier at CC than at my university (so I definitely recommend getting that out of the way). Is College Success Skills required for NOVA (I’m guessing it is a joke of a class, but if you could do one less thing)?</p>

<p>I think it is doable, but like ipod said, only you can decided that.</p>

<p>Yes I do have a good background about Calc and Chemistry. Actually, I studied AP Calc I, AP Chemistry I, and AP Physics post high school (it’s kinda like college preparation semester after high school but non credit courses). Thanks everyone :)</p>
