Is 5 classes too much for an incoming freshman?

I’m an entering fpf freshman so the classes will be a lot smaller, but I was wondering if taking 5 classes is too much.

Math 1B (4 units)
Environmental Science, Policy and Management (4 units)
Political Science 2 (4 units)
Rhetoric 2 (2 units) - - - <this is=“” a=“” public=“” speaking=“” class=“”>
Earth and Planetary Science (2 units)</this>

I don’t want to take so many that it would be hard to get a high gpa, but I would appreciate some advice! Thanks!

It totally depends on the person. Some can manage while others cant. My advice is that don’t take too many major classes at once. What I mean by that is if you are a accounting don’t take too many accounting classes too much info at once and you will end up hating what you want to do with your life. But lets say you take an extra english class and you are strong in english go ahead all means no harm.

Well, two of them are 2 unit courses, so the total is 16 units, what is supposed to be a normal full time course load. Since FPF does not offer high-workload lab courses, it is more likely that this course load will not be excessive.

If your previous math background includes AP or IB credit, you may want to check your math knowledge against Berkeley Math 1A and 1B by trying the old final exams: <a href=“Mathematics Courses - Tau Beta Pi, California Alpha Chapter”>https://tbp.berkeley.edu/courses/math/</a></p>

Two classes are 2 units so it’s doable.
