<p>I know there have been posts like this and I know that it is hard to say what is “too long” by not reading the essay. But do you think that 840 words is going to annoy the adcoms? I have the same exact essay that is 740 words but it’s missing a substantive part of my essay. I think the 740 essay is still good compared to the 840 one but just a bit more shallow. So is 100 words really going to make a difference?</p>
<p>I’d make it as short as possible with the most information as possible.</p>
<p>If 740 words doesn’t take away from the main idea of the essay then by all means, keep it short.</p>
