and i got an 1160 on the two part.

This is an unanswerable question without more context. For some people, 2390 would be a disappointing score; for others, even 1730 would be a great achievement. What schools are you shooting for?

university of delaware
quinnipiac
university of rhode island
Richard Stockton College of NJ
Rowan
university of vermont
West Virginia University

I am not familiar with those schools’ typical test scores. Check on their Web sites to see the 25th-75th percentile ranges for the SAT to get a good idea of where you should be.

You can also use the “where do I stack up” function on collegeboard. Plug in your scores, “save”, and compare. Here is the one for quinnipiac

it’s a decent score. Not the best in the world, but it seems good for those schools. :-)

My goal was to reach 1800, but I fell short and got 1730.

CR= 540
Math=580
Writing=610

I know is more than average… but it hurts a little.

I’m an international student, and I’ll be applying to 12 schools. Most of them are my safeties, a few reaches (SAT optional like Bowdoin)and two BIG reaches (UPENN & Harvard).

TOEFL ibt= 103 (I could have done better but I got nervous)

I’ll be taking two subject tests in January…

Can you guys help me choose which SAT subject test to take?.

Wo

@collegekidd1992, 1730’s not a bad score (national average is roughly 1500, standard deviation 300), but it really depends on where you’re applying and what the mean SAT scores are there.

@joelof12, generally, if you take subject tests, take the ones that are required. If none are required, take the ones you’re best at (most people take at most 2 or 3). One caveat: It’s probably not a good idea to take both Math I and Math II.

Thanks for the quick response. I’m still undecided but… what do you think is better for me under my circumstances

I never had US history classes at school but I’m good at memorizing historical facts and events

I had biology but I lack of lab experience

I’m good at math but not that much.

Which would be better in my case?

-US History Subject Test
-Math level I
-Biology E or M

In the future you may want to start a new thread rather than piggybacking off an existing (and 2 year old) thread.

Only you can answer the question regarding which subject tests to take.

Purchase The Official Study Guide for All SAT Subject Tests, 2nd Ed [Paperback] published by College Board ($12 on Amazon). Under test conditions take sample tests in the subjects that you’re considering and score them. You’ll then have your answer.
