Is a 2200 not a good enough score?

I know that Pomona is notorious for accepting kids with high test scores, so I was wondering if my scores were too low for the school? (M: 800, V: 680, Wr: 720)

The school seems absolutely perfect. I want to major in cognitive science and take computer science classes at Harvey Mudd and do artificial intelligence research. I have a research background too.

What really makes it great though is Pomona’s Hindustani Music Ensemble. I play two indian instruments so I was hoping I could continue my education at Pomona.

Thanks!

GPA - 3.7 (rigorous public magnet)
SAT - 2200
SAT II - M:760, Bio - 750

If you are interested in Pomona, I would strongly recommend that you apply. Your verbal score is a bit on the low side, but your other scores are right up there. And Pomona looks at more than scores when considering applicants.

Good luck!

2200 is definitely good enough to apply. after all, SAT score is not the most important aspect of the application

It’s more that the people Pomona tend to accept are the type of people that also do quite well on the SAT.

2200 is plenty high, but scores alone won’t get you in.
