Is a 570 Critical Reading score necessarily bad?

Is a 570 Critical Reading score bad?

I know it isn’t Harvard/Yale numbers, but the fact still remains that you answered nearly 50 questions correctly.

I have a 730 Writing and a 730 Math score. I don’t know if I should re-take this Saturday.

Thank you!

your question is so inherently subjective that it can’t really be answered.

to me, a 570 is bad. this is because i can get higher.

to others, a 570 may be a target score.

to you, it may be average.

it also depends on the school. you pointed out that a 570 isn’t a Harvard/Yale number. so it’s bad in the ivy sense. might be good for another college…

just what the person above me said its not bad for the colleges that are ok with those numbers.
But maybe u can retake and see if you can bring the score up a little bit to be in par with the math and writing scores.

It’s bad compared to your 730s on the other two sections. But there’s lots of people like you, who are bad at CR, but are good at the other two. Just keep focusing on CR sections, and see what you miss a lot. Was it vocab, long passages, dual passages, and/or short passages?

I usually only miss about 3-4 vocabulary questions and most of the long passages.

Like I previously, I don’t think it’s really bad, because when the dust settles, I have correctly answered 50 questions (instead of looking at it other way on how many I missed.)
