Is a class at 4:30 PM considered an evening class?

Title says it all

Yes…

They’re considered evening classes at my school.

I would also personally categorize it as an evening class, because it won’t end until 5:30-6.

At my school, it wouldn’t be considered an evening class.

It’s going to vary a lot from school to school. This coming semester, I’m going to have a calculus class from 4-5:50, and it is considered an evening class as far as the schools official schedule goes. That really just depends on how a school defines it though.

In either case, by my own personal definition, I would consider a 4:30 class to be early evening. Is there any particular reason you’re asking? That’s kind of an odd question.

It’s funny that you consider it to be an “early evening” class.

I would say it is a “late afternoon” class.

We don’t have that distinction but we have classes that go as late as ending at 10pm (well, labs at least). I wouldn’t quite consider that an evening class. I’d say starting 5:30 and later are evening classes.

I could go either way really. That’s kind of an ambiguous time of day. Sheldon from BBT calls it “prevening,” as in “pre-evening.” That seems about right to me.

Depends on the length of the class.

If it runs into the 5 o’clock hour, then I would consider it an evening class.

I would say it was late afternoon if it got out at or before 6:00.

Not to be rude (I’m legit just curious), what difference does it make? Do some schools have some kind of different policies for evening classes?
