I got a D on ECE 35 and I am wondering if I can take the ECE 45 course but still retake ECE 35 this fall quarter, thanks.

Oh and another question, what does the (F,W,S) next to the prerequisites mean? Is that the grades you can’t receive for the prereq? thanks again (fail, withdrawal, satisfactory)

Good guess lol for FWS. But that means its offered respectively Fall, Winter, and Spring.

No, a D is not acceptable for a prereq course.
You have to pass the class in order to move on to the next course, and unfortunately, a D is not passing. C- and above is considered a passing grade.

Unless you’ve already taken the class twice (in which case you’d be forced to move on to the next course, or petition to retake the prereq course for a third time) then you have to retake it and get a C- or higher.

Ah okay, thanks guys.
Crap… I just got owned then. Guess I should withdraw from ECE 45 and pick a different class

Don’t worry, taking ECE 35 again before ECE 45 is probably best. It gets tougher in later classes if you don’t have a solid grasp of the fundamentals.

So say if we did get above a C- in a prereq course, can we still retake it if we wanted to get a higher grade if we only took it once before? the previous grade will still be on your transcript but the GPA will read the 2nd time grade right?
