I completely messed up the Challenges / Circumstances part of my Common App. So much context that I assumed was “implied,” but after writing it all down, I genuinely don’t know what I was thinking. Duke is my last shot, coming out this Tuesday.
I just uploaded my correct Challenges / Circumstances to their portal, which will definitely help if I get waitlisted, but I’m really contemplating calling their office tomorrow when they open and explaining my situation.
I know this is literally last-minute, but what do you guys think? Have you guys seen last minute update stories? I just want a fair evaluation of my application after messing up all my other schools.

I was trying to be gentle; the response without sugarcoating is you’re too late.
You can revisit if you get waitlisted, but they’re not going to review your application again now and they’re not going to put you in the waitlist if that wasn’t already their intention.
It won’t be seen as decisions have been made. That you acknowledge you erred months later be less reason to WL you and more reason to reject you as opposed to pointing this out right away. Leave it alone I’d say.
What do you mean by this? Have you been accepted anywhere? Did you apply to safeties? With an acceptance rate below 5%, Duke is not a safety for anyone.
I agree with others that contacting Duke about this at this point will not do you any good. The question is whether they will ignore you, or they will find this annoying. Neither would help.
