Thank you.
Perhaps as an alternative OP may complete a STEM major, complete OPT for experience, and apply to PA school?
Having the full ride to Wagner would allow them to save college money for PA school.
Thank you.

Only 20 PA programs will accept international students (out of over 340 US programs!)
so that pathway is not easily do-able either.
Most PA program require 500+ hours of hands one patient-facing EMPLOYMENT as a condition for admission. Passing the pre-employment background check as an international can be a major issue. Also most of these job require some additional training/education that is not available at an undergraduate college. (Most require a 3 month to 2 year educational program at a community college or vocational school.)
Again there will be NO financial aid to attend PA school and an international will need to place a substantial sum of money (typically 3 years of tuition & fees at a minimum) into a US escrow account before enrolling.
There is no ācompletionā of OPT without someone actually getting a job first! This student will need to actually find someone to hire him/her with whatever degree/experience he/she has after the BA before the OPT clock begins!
I donāt think this is great advice without knowing more about the OP, desire to stay in the US, family support, etc.
This is part of more questions Iāve been asking; Iām trying to figure out whether OPs plan is in any way doable and the answer is NO.
(OP indicated they wanted to know about academics as a premed which typically means intent to become a doctor or have a career in Health professions).
@Flatrestaurant : knowing you cannot pursue a premed path, what subjects would you major in and what sort of career are you thinking of?
The 3 colleges you mentioned may or may not be equally good for that.
I have a 42/45 predicted IB score and I would get a fully funded scholarship at any of the universities. My major would most likely be neuroscience, or in wagner biopsychology. I was under the impression that international students can go on the pre-med path in the US. I applied to NYU with a primary area of study a āpre-professional medicine trackā. Does that mean I will immediately be rejected? I had no idea internationals couldnāt do this.
You can complete premed pre-reqs alongside your major but as demonstrated above every possible way for you to go on and become a health professional is barred.
Also, med schools prefer applicants who showed their ability at handling a traditional major with As and conplete pre-reqs too, rather than taking a shortcut with a āpremed majorā. Neuroscience or Biopsychology+pre-reqs is fine.
To be clear:
In the US, āpremedā is not āmedicalā. Itās a set of pre-requisite classes that all students who wish to be admitted to med school must take. You take General Biology I&II alongside biology majors and must do better than 80% of them. You must take Chemistry alongside Chemistry majors and do better than 80% of them. Etc.
What is your goal with Neuroscience or Psychobiology (beside medicine)?
42 IB is very good.
Were you admitted to the Honors college anywhere?
ohh, yes thank you that makes more sense.
After completing undergrad in neuroscience I would either go to grad studies or try to apply for med school (if possible).
And thanks, I tried for that 42 predicted :). I was not accepted to any college yet, rejected from UIUC, waitlisted at UCLA and UW and rejected from uchicago.
Really only a feasible plan if you are able to get a green card before applying to medical schools OR you have a quarter-to-a half million dollars lying around that can be used to pay for med school.
Thanks for the advice, Iām still not fully decided on what to do, itās just a thought. But at least know I know the gist of how it works.
Thatās why I asked about paths to MD, DO, and PA school. And basically theyāre not open to you.
Grad school (PHD with Masters en route) is another matter - you will need evidence of being involved in research with conference presentations and/or published papers. But many grad students are international, thereās no barrier. You ājustā needs stellar grades, leadership, research
For that reason, you should try to get into Honors since research is a key part of the experience.

Itās late to be applying but your IB background, predicted scores, and what I assume ability to leverage what you learned in TOK should help you craft a convincing application highlighting intellectual curiosity and achievement.
I assume Wagner invited you, reply by the deadline.
It will be harder to get to grad school from Wagner than from SUNY Buff Honors or Drake Honors (I can detail further if youāre interested but itās really getting into the weeds.)
Are you waiting for more acceptances?
Thank you! Why harder from wagner?
Yes I am, all of the ivyās except Princeton. NYU and northwestern (ambitious ik).
And did I see Rice?
Wagner doesnāt have the resources (faculty, labs, funding) that a SUNY has. Not a knock on Wagner- itās just not set up as a comprehensive research university.
Yes, just checked the portal. Rejected :)). As an international I expected the rejections, but damn, an acceptance would be nice
Oh yeah it makes sense
