Is a smartphone a handheld computer?

I notice the young generation mostly use their smartphone as a computer. They use it as a phone not as frequently.

Do you think a smartphone is basically a computer that happens to include the phone function which is rarely be used by the young people?

Do you think a smartphone is basically a computer? — Sure as long as you don’t need to do any computing with it.

But if you’re in a wi-fi or 4G zone and all you need is an app than it’s pretty close.

It’s cumbersome to type a lot of text on a smart phone (think term papers), but now that we have good text dictation capabilities even that has become much easier. I composed this post with dictation and then just made minor edits; it’s really pretty easy.

Nobody uses their smartphone as their computer for home use, but rather for portable use. Find me somebody who prefers to use their smartphone rather than computer when they’re at home.

The computer is downstairs in the office. Sitting on the family room couch I usually prefer the smartphone over going to the basement (laziness!).
