The website stated that the average for uchicago was 4.0, and notre dame was 3.9-3.96? i feel like thats almost impossible? please correct me if I am wrong
^ while they stated that stanford was 3.9-9.0, berkeley was 3.62-3.9 and emory was 3.68-3.89
All websites usually have some old data. i believe that 4.0 for UChicago though. Hard to even be considered if you don’t have one. Emory’s average this year was like a 3.82 or so I think. But point is, most websites have somewhat inaccurate data, but usually they’re within the ball park.
@gdlt234 ok. i just thought that chicago’s admittance gpa would be lower than stanfords (they said stanfords and harvards was 3.9)
@cowycam7 I can understand that. I thought both Harvard and Stanford’s average GPA was a 4.0, but with the wholistic admissions process those without 4.0’s get in too. But UChicago is up there with Stanford and Harvard in terms of admissions standards.
UChicago reports the second highest SAT scores in the nation (after Caltech).
The data may not be the MOST up to date…but running a few colleges I am knowledgeable about through the system, it seems like the data is generally accurate. It’s just giving you a ballpark range so you know where you stand. It’s like anything else with college admissions. There is an average range of SAT/ACT/ GPA that students get but it’s not the end of the world if you’re not in that exact range.
Rather than finding the average, I think it’s more helpful to know that 3/4 of the Stanford admits have a 4.0.
merc81are you talking about Top 100 SAT scores ranking list by Forbes? http://www.forbes.com/sites/schifrin/2014/08/04/top-100-sat-scores-ranking-which-colleges-have-the-brightest-kids/
