My mom offered to go halfsies with me for an iPad. I already have a Macbook pro and an iPhone. Would this be a waste of money?

not if your only paying for half of it. then its that much saved

Uh, probably.

Ehhh not really. To me I think it’s a mix between a cell phone and a laptop. I was just on one today at the mall and found it to be cool. It’s a decent size and convenient when you don’t feel like bringing your laptop. More power to ya if you have one/plan on buying one.

YES. If you already have an iphone AND a macbook pro why bother?

I don’t have one, but I don’t see the point. My mom’s been dying to get one, but I keep telling her I think it’s a waste of money, so she hasn’t.

My advice: Yes, waste of money! Especially if you have a macbook and an iphone.

Yes, it’s a waste of $ if you already have those other 2.

Nope, not a waste! Especially if you go halvsies. It’s sooo much more convenient than a laptop, and it’s easier to look things up on than an iPhone because it’s bigger. It also has features that the MacBook doesn’t.

If your mom is paying half it isn’t a waste, money is being saved. And if you like to be entertained, its nice to have when traveling. Every morning I see people on the trains, Starbucks, and the such reading books and magazines on it. If you happen to be on a long plane or car ride its nice to have a nice screen to watch a movie on. The iPhone is a bit small for that kinda stuff. Its best used outside when an iPhone is too small, and a Macbook is to big. If you plan to just listen to music, its a big waste then.

Yes, it is a waste.

You can bring a macbook on a train, to Starbucks, long plan rides, and car rides. You can read, watch movies, and do more on a macbook. Either way you need some form of tote for both ipad or a laptop. Yes, it may be more convenient, but I don’t view it as that much more of a convenience. My $0.02

Save your money.

Yes, it’s a total waste of money. And no, an iPad does not have a single feature that a MB lacks.

Waste because you have the other 2

very big waste.

I don’t see what the big deal is about it. My aunt and dad have one and i’ve been on them and all it is is an oversized iphone. :/

The iPad 2 and any other tablet is an accessory.

Your Macbook Pro + iPhone combo is perfect. Don’t buy the iPad, it’s a waste of money in your situation. WASTE OF MONEY. DON’T BUY.

It isn’t a waste if the op happens to be well off. If not then it is.

You seriously have to ask whether a tablet, especially from Apple, is a waste of money?

One more expensive toy to keep up with…

If you don’t need the money in the future then why not get one?

Give the money to Somalia brah

Yeah, it’s a waste. I can’t really think of a situation where you’d want to use an iPad over the other 2. If you traveled often, that would be different- but that’s really the only instance where I could see an advantage.

try living a more minimalist lifestyle and don’t get it. You dont need it after all and plus it will save your mom $$$ if she dosen’t invest in one.
