Is any working without pay considered volunteering?

Hello everyone. I want to volunteer at a sport club in the same field I attend, but not mine, since mine is not register as a non for profit organization. Would it look good for colleges? I really like to do it, since I love the sport, but I do not have extra time to spent, and I really need to pick up volunteering hours. So if this one does not qualify, I need to find something else really quickly. What are the requirements for organization to be considered for volunteer services as far as Ivy’s concerned? Since this is a small club, and they do not have any volunteers yet, what paper work do they have to have to qualify, and give me to satisfy volunteering requirements?

I guess, but you should ask your supervisor there.

Besides, they would be the ones to fill out the forms that would prove you volunteered there.

Also, the paperwork depends. For community service competitions, they usually have the forms on their website

This sounds like a great volunteer opportunity. I would speak to whoever is in charge if they will sign how many hours you worked each season then keep a detailed notebook of hours and then have them type something up.

Thank you everyone. My concern is that it might be considered not strong type of volunteering, since it not at the edge: helping homeless, etc. What do you think? Is it considered volunteering or some kind of internship? When is working for free is consider volunteering and when it considered internship?
