I didn’t binge watch Breaking Bad until last year. It’s in my top 3 shows of all time…perhaps top 2 now that GoT butchered the final season. The “sequel” is titled El Camino and will be released on Netflix October 11th. I can’t wait.
Thanks for mentioning this. I hadn’t heard about it and am now eagerly looking forward to it.
If Mr. White (ie Bryan Cranston) is not back, I am not sure that I will be interested in it. Is he?
Cannot wait!!
This is great news! https://bgr.com/2019/09/23/el-camino-breaking-bad-trailer-jesse-pinkman/
I’m scared because I loved that show and many sequels/spin-offs disappointed me in the past.
No one knows if Walter White will be part of the story. This movie will be about Jesse Pinkman specifically. I saw an interview with Vince Gilligan about how he kept this project secret. He said the clandestine nature of the filming required flying in a “high profile” actor by private jet…so…perhaps Heisenberg makes an appearance…
@GKUnion
I hope that is the case. Their tweets seemed to imply that. Intrigued…
If anyone here liked Breaking Bad and haven’t watched Better Call Saul, I would highly recommend it! It’s a prequel specifically about Saul Goodman and how he came to be the lawyer we know in Breaking Bad. There have been four seasons so far; the first three are streaming on Netflix.
I’m looking forward to El Camino and seeing more of Jesse Pinkman.
I didn’t realize it would be on Netflix. This is great news and I can’t wait!
I’m looking forward to watching this, even without Walt. I was unsure of Better Call Saul, and ended up truly enjoying it. DH was reluctant to watch, but became hooked, too.
Cannot wait!
I like Better Call Saul too. Totally different vibe than BB, but enjoyable nonetheless.
We binge-watched Breaking Bad over the last month when DH was recovering from surgery. We watched El Camino (“the road,” and also Todd’s stolen vehicle) about a week ago. SPOILER I think that Jesse chose Mike as his spiritual father over Walt and tried to live life as Mike would have wanted him to. Another manifestation of Mike’s influence is the importance of “the deal,” keeping one’s word to the letter, as we saw with his interactions with Ed Galbraith, the “disappearer.” Another poignant moment was when Jesse asked Skinny Pete why he was “doing this” and Skinny Pete responded that Jesse was his hero. Jesse up to this point has just been along for the ride and I think that Skinny Pete gave him courage to break off and do his thing. The last scene and the close up of the envelope intended for Brock Cantillo will not mean anything to those who did not watch Breaking Bad. I though the show was great fan service, but if you do not know the show it will not mean much to you.
