<p>wow, pretty heated conversation here. I’ll put in my two bits…</p>
<p>Every person is different. For some people, CC might be ideal because its closer to home and cheaper. For others, UCM is ideal because they want a new experience in the dorms, meeting people, and getting a better feel for UC level coursework.</p>
<p>Personally, I think the ideal situation is going to UCM, getting used to UC level coursework, networking and making friends in the dorms, and getting the experience of living without your parents.</p>
<p>I have gone to CC, while in high school in the summer, and admittedly it has been on a similar level or lower to my high school curriculum. I would probably take classes in CC during the summer to get prereqs and hard classes out of the way here, and its cheaper rather than staying over the summer and paying more money.</p>
<p>If I do want to transfer, I think transferring out would be easiest with UCM, so when I have transferred, I’ll be more used to coursework and be able to maintain my GPA better.</p>
