Is being assigned an admissions counselor a good sign?

My son will most likely get a Bright Future (for now he doesn’t have enough community service hours), and we are local.

Especially for Robby2306, I just received this email today from the admissions officer. Sounds boiler plate standard answer to how long it will take to hear anything, but the second paragraph is interesting…:

Thank you for your interest in the University of South Florida. Unfortunately it is difficult to determine when a student will receive their decision. Each application is unique and, as a result, has its own processing time. Our typical evaluation period for an application is 4-8 weeks once all admissions materials have been received; however, it is not uncommon to experience a longer evaluation time period.

In many cases when a student has experienced a longer wait time, having additional information, like 1st semester senior grades or additional test scores, can assist our office in reaching an admissions decision. Please submit any additional information as soon as possible to assist in the evaluation process.

very interesting email.

yea my app has been there for exactly 3 months

i just sent them new scores 3 weeks ago. i went up one point…

and new transcript.

i havent really heard anything and the emials ive received dont show any concern like that one.

they all just say we are very busy and hope to recieve an answer asap, thanks for patience
my stats are the most competitive.

3.4 / 3.6 and 24 act but i didnt expect it to take this long.

ive heard back from everywhere else and its pretty frustrating. of course i would LOVE to be admitted, if i am deffered etc i would rather know sooner than later.

my stats arent ** the most competitive

When did you apply? I applied September 3rd and heard back in early November. Quite a wait considering I had a 3.9/29 ACT. But I had a big scholarship along with my acceptance so it was worth it!

Applied sep 7th 2013 … Still no answer in contact with them and thy say be patient

I’d say the next two weeks should be good for you, unless you have a major problem that they don’t like (lopsided ACT, school suspension, something along those lines that would overshadow your stats?). If you don’t hear back by Christmas then start to worry. Also check your OASIS and make sure they have your correct contact info.

Ya, i dont have any school problems, and they have all m my info etc!
My act break down math 22 eng 23 scieence 25 reading 25

I hope to hear by then!’

What major?

Bussiness so finance and accounting
