Just received an email a couple of days ago from a USF Admissions Counselor introducing himself. Is everyone who applied assigned one, or is this a good sign?

I believe everyone is assigned one. They’re someone to turn to for questions and such tht might come up.

I applied on sep 7 and still heard noting! Last week i recieved an email from a guy named jay saying he was my advissor

I feel its a good sign because finally someone is there reviewing my app. But i enailed in a week ago asking some questions and he has not answerd!

When did u apply?

Applied at the beginning of October. Jay is my advisor also - received his email Wednesday. Are you applying for summer or fall?

Does anyone remember how long it was between being assigned an admissions advisor and hearing their decision?

I was given an advisor after I was accepted.

Ohh and i oringinally applied for sumer term. I would prefer fall amd simce fall= app looked at for both terms i sent in a form to change to fall.

Still shows up on my account as summer 14 so not sure what ever happened with that. As long as i get in i would be thrilled …

What are your stats?

Good luck to you too. I would imagine you would hear before me since you applied so much earlier.

Niquii77, do you remember approximately how long after your acceptance that you were assigned the admissions advisor?

Thanks and i would hope to hear soon

Being assigned an advisor doesn’t mean anything. My friend requested info from USF (never even started the actual application), and she got the same email saying she now had an admissions advisor.

reskin, I have no clue. It could’ve been one month to three months…

In our case it took 2 weeks. My son applied on Oct.25 and got an acceptance letter on Nov.9.

What were his stats

Sat: 1940
gpa unw: 3.4
gpa w: 5.2

Hey, did he get any scholarship money?

Yes, $15K + $2K for honors.

Tuition 6300, housing about 2000-2500. Even if it it turns out to be a lot I would consider working since in college you have a lot of free time. Just like 5hrs on evenings. Would Ask my ao about that soon.
