I’ve been admitted to BS Interior Design at Cincinnati, but I’ve been thinking that doing Arch would allow more flexibility in the future.

So I’ve been wondering, if I take this degree in ID, would it be possible to take the route of MArch later on? And is it possible with a BS ID to be admitted to higher tier graduate programs at places such as Harvard or Columbia or Cincinnati itself?

Thanks so much.

yes.

M.arch I is for everyone with any sorts of backgrounds. You really don’t need an architectural or design background per say, but it’ll definitely make your portfolio better.

and yea, it’s possible to be admitted to an IVY league with a BS ID, but does it improve your chances? no.

again, M.arch I programs accept students from various backgrounds.

But make sure you ask yourself, “how serious are you into design?” If design is the only thing you live and breathe by, then I’d say go with the route you’re choosing so you can be more diverse if that is your strategy.

Otherwise, you can do anything in your undergraduate like - engineering, business, etc.etc. if you really want to be diverse.Choose a stable undergraduate degree to fall back on if architecture doesn’t work.
