<p>I wonder how many Brits know that University of Washington and Washington University and University of Miami and Miami University are not the same schools?</p>
<p>There’s also Cornell College and Cornell University which are quite different. ANd then, to confuse things more. Harvard refers to the undergrad section , sometimes, as Harvard College. And, there is Oxford College in the US, as well as at least a couple of Cambridge Colleges. Then, we can consider that Cambridge and Oxford are both composed of colleges…</p>
<p>that’s because the UK doesn’t have as many universities as the US have. there are only about a hundred universities in the UK that have royal charter.</p>
