is CAS not as good as the rest of the NYU schools? i heard from my friend that apparently, CAS is for “the less intelligent” (no offense). i applied to CAS, but now i’m wondering if i chose the right school…

also what are my chances for CAS (rd)?
i go to an extremely competitive school. i’m 17/258. i have a combined sat score of 2170. my gpa is 4.449 (or something like that). i have over 230 hours of community service at my local hospital. i volunteered at a local pharmacy and have over 30 hours of service. i did winter/spring track soph and junior year. i am in french club, hands in hands club (a club to help the mentally ■■■■■■■■). i was the assistant arts editor of my school newspaper, and now i’m the news editor. i am one of six selected officers in national honor society. i went on missions for three years (twice to El Salvador and once to a Native American reservation in Washington). i participated in columbia’s summer program for high school students and did genetics and molecular biology. i have two great recommendations–one from my precalculus teacher and NHS advisor, and one from my french teacher who i’ve had for three years. i also am in the french honor society and received the university of pennsylvania book award during my junior year. i tutor every week, 2 hours a week. i sang in my church choir since 7th grade… oh yeah and my sat2 scores: math IC-710; math IIC-770; chemistry-710; biology-680.

yeah blah blah…stuff like that. what are my chances??

You go to the school that has the major you want to study. Tisch is a great school but you would never go there if you want to study philosophy (good dept. at CAS). So if CAS is the school for you, apply there. I am going to Gallatin because that’s where want to go, and my SATs are higher than the original poster on this thread. I don’t think people consider themselves “less intelligent” because they don’t want to study business at Stern.
