Is Chinese a popular course? (how fast do the classes fill up?)

<p>Hey people. I’m planning to study Chinese for my foreign language GE, and an in-person interview is required to enroll in classes. Since I live in Bay Area, I really don’t want to drive all the way to SD just for a placement test. However, freshmen registration appointments start late August-ish, I think? The interviews are offered July-August, as well as near the move-in date, which is mid-late September. </p>

<p>It’d be much more convenient for me to do the interview when I drive down to move in, but if I wait that long to register for the course, do you think the seats would be filled up already? (Is Chinese a popular course to take? I’m a semi-fluent native speaker, by the way.)</p>

<p>you can do them in the fall. even if the class fills up (unlikely), you can just take it second year. nobody’s going to fly to SD just to take a placement test.</p>
