I tried the college vine tool that estimates your chances of acceptance at multiple schools. It seemed like they had overestimated my chances so I don’t want to get my hopes up. Does anyone have experience with this tool, and was it accurate??
All the online calculators have limitations, including Naviance which should technically be more accurate.
Your best bet is to look up the school’s common data set and see where your stats fall and the acceptance rate.
If you are applying to a school that admits by major, you need to be further mindful that an overall university acceptance rate may not be reflective of that for a competitive major. Or if it’s a public school and you are out of state. Or if you are a hooked applicants. Or…
Your best bet is to have a balanced list of schools, including safeties that you love and can afford.
All these online calculators don’t see your actual application. That’s where the real make-or-break happens.
