Is collegeboard allowed to do that?

In the second edition of the blue book, test 2 page 478, question #13 asks more of a scientific question than a regular passage based question. Even though it is a simple question that only requires basic knowledge, are they still allowed to do that? The passage doesn’t really support the answer choices; I thought all answers should be able to be answered without drawing any outside knowledge.

Of course they are allowed to, they make the test. They can ask whatever questions they want. And it is implied in the passage. The passage says that there would be plants and primitive dragonflies and that Venus would be like Earth.

So, the question asks which could not be true. Obviously, A,C,D, and E can be true. They don’t have to be, but they can be true. B can’t be true because without oxygen, no earth-like life can exist. Sure you need to know that without oxygen earth-like life can’t exist, but that is basic knowledge.
